Traditional cafe in Tokyo 🍡

This historic confectionery shop, dating back to the Edo period, is famous for its unbelievably soft and flavorful melt in your mouth dango!

They come on a plate in 3 colours: white anko (white), red anko (red) and miso (yellow)

The shop has not changed their flavour since the start and since they don’t use additives it needs to be eaten on the same day.

They also sell Monaka that come in pairs (one with red bean paste and one with white bean paste)

Time: 9am-5pm (closed on Tuesdays)

The name Kototoi originates from a poem in which a seagull is featured, and was the name of a nearby bridge that lent its name to this store.

A seagull (miyako-dori in Japanese) became the symbol of this store and is shown on all of its plates on which the dango are served!

Beyond the deliciousness, there’s something special about Kototoi Dango. Stepping into the shop is like stepping back in time.

The traditional atmosphere and friendly staff make it a truly unique experience. It’s the perfect little escape for a taste of authentic Japanese culture and tradition.
