🎀 Kanzashi Making near Tokyo Skytree🌸
You might’ve seen these elaborate hair accessories before. They’re often worn with kimonos and are a traditional craft that dates back to the Edo period (1603-1868).
SUGINO (有限会社杉野商店) was established in 1948. They’re a Kanzashi making wholeseller that recently launched this craft and workshop tour experience.
In this 80-minute experience, you’ll make a simple Kanzashi using the “Tsumami” technique of pinching fabric. They are English-friendly and will provide lots of support to help you along the way. You also get a tour of their workshop to see craftswomen in action, making some of the latest seasonal accessories.
You get to bring back: the flower accessory you made, a flower arrangement of your choice, and a custom photo frame for the flower to go in
Some key things to note: The experience is suitable for those 12yo+ and the minimum booking is from 2pax.
