How about crafting a DIY souvenir in just 30 minutes while in Sumida, Tokyo?

I recently revisited Studio Tsukada to craft a unique kimekomi strap. Remember Mr. Tsukada, the master craftsman? He mentored me throughout the day.

We used specialized tools tailored for kimekomi doll-making and a kimekomi strap base with grooves.

I started by selecting a fabric, which I then split into two. Carefully, I positioned the fabric within the grooves, ensuring a seamless fit. Afterward, I adjusted the fabric to the desired shape and pressed its edges securely into the grooves.To finish, I adorned it with chosen decorations.

I’m genuinely thrilled with my handcrafted souvenir. A huge thank you to Mr. Tsukada for his invaluable guidance!

Next year celebrates the Year of the Dragon. I can‘t wait to craft a dragon-themed piece. Stay tuned for my next creation!

私は再度塚田工房を訪れ、今回は紙こもりのストラップを作成しました。

みなさん、木目込み人形の職人、塚田さんのことを覚えていますか？今日は制作方法を教えてくれますり

木目込み人形を作る道具はずらり〜そしてこれ溝が彫られたどそストラップの土台も使います。

ちゃんとステップをふむと難しくはないですが、心を静かにして繊細な作業が必要。
Step1 まず、布を選び、二つに分けます。

Step2 布を溝の中に置きます。

Step3 布が溝の中にシームレスになるように配置します。

Step4余分な布を取り除き、望む形に整えます。

Step5 布の端を、慎重にに溝に押し込みます。

上記の手順を繰り返して、主要部分が完成するまで進める、選んだデコレーションで飾ります。

ようやくできました。「よくできました」と褒められました。嬉しい✨塚田さん、指導ありがとうございました！
