Founded over 100 years ago, in 1914, Uosai tastily and aesthetically resisted renovation. Slipping through the noren curtain marking their front sliding door, one slides into a delicious time slip for ask of your senses. The decor remains unchanged, with tatami mats intact, and the overall decor remains that of Taisho era. They conjure up their dashi broth from dried kelp and bonito, without resorting to any artificial flavours. Staunchly dedicated to natural “umami” flavour, they serve nothing but good taste, and food safety, reliably.
